The Hong Kong Jockey Club 125th Anniversary Sweepstakes - Terms and Conditions

One lucky draw ticket (''Lucky Draw Ticket'') will be given free of charge upon purchase of one commemorative Sweepstakes ticket (''Sweepstakes Ticket''). Each Lucky Draw Ticket will carry a horse number and a unique lucky draw number. The Hong Kong Jockey Club (''Club'') will not entertain any request for change (whether in respect of the horse number or lucky draw number or otherwise) or re-issuance of any ticket for any reason.

The lucky draw shall be tied to the results of the 125^th Anniversary feature race (''Lucky Draw'') to be held at the Shatin Racecourse on 15 November 2009 (''Feature Race'').

Subject to Conditions 5 and 6 below, Lucky Draw Tickets carrying the horse number of the horses placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the Feature Race shall be entitled to participate in the Lucky Draw as follows:

(i) 1^st Prize: One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse. The winner will be entitled to gold valued at approximately HK$12,500,000.

(ii) 2^nd Prize: Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool). Each winner will be entitled to gold valued at approximately HK$125,000.

(iii) 3^rd Prize: Five (5) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st and 2^nd Prize excluded from the pool). Each winner will be entitled to HK$12,500 merchant coupons.

(iv) 4^th Prize: 125 winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd or 4^th placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Prize excluded from the pool). Each winner will be entitled to HK$1,250 merchant coupons.

(v) Consolation Prize: All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize). Each winner will be entitled to HK$20 Hong Kong Jockey Club coupon. The coupon cannot be redeemed for cash.

In the event of a withdrawal of a horse, the substitution rule will apply (i.e. all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the withdrawn horse will be allocated the horse number of the horse with the lowest final ''Win'' odds (i.e. the hot favourite) in the Feature Race). A withdrawal means a horse declared a non-starter or non-runner or otherwise withdrawn from the Feature Race in accordance with the Club's Rules of Racing.

The following rules shall apply in the event of a dead-heat in the Feature Race (in place of the rules set out in Condition 3 above):

	4^th Prize	The 4^th Prize winners (125 winners) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 1^st place or the horse number of the 3^rd or 4^th placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 1^st place (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 2^nd place (two-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd and 3^rd Prize	The 2^nd and 3^rd Prize winners (2 winners for 2^nd Prize and 5 winners for 3^rd Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse or the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 2^nd place (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	4^th Prize	The 4^th Prize winners (125 winners) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse, the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 2^nd place or the horse number of 4^th placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 3^rd place (two-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd Prize	Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	3^rd and 4^th Prize	The 3^rd and 4^th Prize winners (5 winners for 3^rd Prize and 125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse, or the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 3^rd place (with the winners of the 1^st and 2^nd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 4^th place (two-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd Prize	Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).

	4^th Prize	The 4^th Prize winners (125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 1^st place or the horse number of the 4^th placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 1^st place (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 2^nd place (three-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize	The 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize winners (2 winners for 2^nd Prize, 5 winners for 3^rd Prize and 125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse or the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 2^nd place (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 3^rd place (three-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd Prize	Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	3^rd and 4^th Prize	The 3^rd and 4^th Prize winners (5 winners for 3^rd Prize and 125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse, or the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 3^rd place (with the winners of the 1^st and 2^nd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
Dead-heat for the 4^th place (three-way)	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd Prize	Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	3^rd Prize	Five (5) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st and 2^nd Prize excluded from the pool).
	4^th Prize	The 4^th Prize winners (125 winners) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd placed horse, and the horse number of any horse involved in the dead-heat for 4^th place (with the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).

Insufficient Finishers

The following rules shall apply in the event that there are insufficient finishers in the Feature Race (in place of the rules set out in Condition 3 above):

2 Finishers Only	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize	The 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize winners (2 winners for 2^nd Prize, 5 winners for 3^rd Prize and 125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1st or 2nd placed horse (with the winners of the 1st Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).
3 Finishers Only	1^st Prize	One (1) winner to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse.
	2^nd Prize	Two (2) winners to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st or 2^nd placed horse (with the winner of the 1^st Prize excluded from the pool).
	3^rd and 4^th Prize	The 3^rd and 4^th Prize winners (5 winners for 3^rd Prize and 125 winners for 4^th Prize) to be drawn from all Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1st, 2^nd or 3^rd placed horse (with the winners of the 1^st and 2^nd Prize excluded from the pool).
	Consolation Prize	All Lucky Draw Tickets bearing the horse number of the 1^st placed horse (except for winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Prize).

In the event that the Feature Race becomes a void race, another race will be rearranged as the feature race for the Lucky Draw and the Club will announce accordingly.

Only persons aged 18 or above may purchase the Sweepstakes Ticket, be eligible to enter the Lucky Draw and redeem the prizes.

The winning Lucky Draw Ticket numbers will be announced on the Club's website (www.hkjc.com) on 15 November 2009 and will be published in the Oriental Daily News and the South China Morning Post on 18 November 2009.

10.

The winners of the 1st Prize or 2nd Prize must call the Club's Hotline 1817 between 16 and 19 November 2009 to register and to make an appointment to claim the prize. The winner must present valid identification document and the winning Lucky Draw Ticket at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Headquarters (at 1 Sports Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong) to claim the prize in person during the scheduled time. If the winner fails to register with the Club within the time and in the manner specified, the Club may refuse payment of the Prize and the Prize shall be forfeited.

11.

All other prize winners shall refer to the following procedures on collecting the prizes:

•The winners of the 3rd Prize or 4th Prize must call the Club's Hotline 1817 to make an appointment to collect the prize between 16 November 2009 to 14 January 2010. The winner must arrive at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Headquarters (at 1 Sports Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong) during the scheduled time to collect the prize in person. The winner must present valid identification document and the winning Lucky Draw Ticket to collect the prize.

•The winners of the Consolation Prize must present the winning Lucky Draw Ticket at any Off-Course Betting Branches or Racecourses during the Club's relevant business hours on or before 14 January 2010 to collect the prize.

12.

Prizes must be collected on or before 14 January 2010. All prizes not collected by 14 January 2010 will be forfeited.

13.

The Lucky Draw Ticket must be surrendered to the Club upon redemption of prizes. The Lucky Draw Ticket upon which a prize has been collected becomes the property of the Club.

14.

The Lucky Draw Ticket is void if damaged, defaced or lost. No replacement will be issued. Photocopies will not be accepted.

No prize will be paid unless the winner can present the winning Lucky Draw Ticket. No prize will be paid on a Lucky Draw Ticket unless it can be identified by its unique serial number.

16.

All staff of the Club and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Lucky Draw. Staff members of the Club are not allowed to claim, collect and/or receive a prize personally, with the assistance of a third party, or for a third party. Any Lucky Draw Ticket found in contravention of this Condition may result in the Lucky Draw Ticket being declared null and void. Any Prize earned by such Lucky Draw Ticket shall be forfeited by The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

17.

The Club and its subsidiaries shall not assume any liability for any loss, whether direct or indirect, suffered by any person in relation to the Lucky Draw (whether or not as a result of the wilful or negligent act or omission of the Club and/or its subsidiaries, its employees, agents or contractors, including the employees of such agents or contractors, or any other person). Without prejudice to the foregoing, the Club and its subsidiaries shall not be liable to any person for the accuracy and/or completeness of any information printed on the Lucky Draw Ticket and/or the Sweepstakes Ticket, or in respect of any loss suffered by any person in respect of or in connection with any defect or deficiency of any Lucky Draw Ticket and/or Sweepstakes Ticket.

18.

No failure, delay, relaxation or forbearance on the part of the Club to enforce any of these terms and conditions shall operate as a waiver and no single or partial exercise or enforcement of these terms and conditions by the Club shall preclude the Club from any future exercise or enforcement of these terms and conditions.

19.

The exercise of any discretion of the Club on one occasion shall not be considered as a precedent in binding the Club in exercising its discretion in the like or similar manner on another occasion.

20.

The Club reserves the right to amend any of these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

21.

If any circumstance arises which is not provided for by these terms and conditions, it shall be subject to the Club's decision or determination.

22.

In case of dispute, the decision of The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall be final and binding.

23.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, and each participant shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

24.

These terms and conditions are available in both Chinese and English versions. In the event of any inconsistency between the two versions, the English version shall prevail.
