| A strongly muscled,
powerful horse, Co-Tack was almost machine-like in the manner in
which he gunned down all opposition. He was the first horse to string
together ten consecutive wins, and in the process set a new record
for the Sha Tin mile that would stand for over 20 years. With trainer
Wong Tang Ping and jockey Tony Cruz, Co-Tack ruled the roost from
27 January 1982 to 5 May 1984. Tendon trouble prematurely ended
his career. He won the 1983 Derby, the Gold Cup once, the Sha Tin
Trophy once and the Champions and Chater Cup twice. He was like
            a blazing meteor. |
