A new home win for Stabaek

Stabaek midfielders Pontus Farnerud and Johan Andersson are still out injured.

Influential striker Daniel Nannskog is considered as a major doubt.

Viking finally have all their key players on the midfield back in play. Defender JÈûrgen Horn is still short of match fitness, but his absence is not that important.

MATCH PREVIEW

While Viking were involved in the mid week round of Norwegian Cup, Stabaek could rest.

Stabaek attacker Veigar Pall Gunnarsson became the big hero scoring a hat trick when the home team defeated Molde by 4-3 on Monday. Winger Espen Hoff also scored in a beautiful way, and is finally playing his best football again. Three straight home wins for the team.

This makes the absence of veteran striker Daniel Nannskog less painful. That said, his replacement Bernt Hulsker is no where near the level of top scorer Nannskog.

Viking midfielder Martin Fillo scored all three goals as Odd Grenland were beaten last round. The Czech player has been out injured all season and the match vs Odd was his first appearance from start.

Viking obviously lack a notorious goal scorer up front, but now they at least have all their feared midfielders back in business and scoring goals.

They defeated Kongvinger 2-0 in the Norwegian Cup midweek, and advanced into the final eight.

This match is played indoors on an artificial surface. That should give Stabaek an advantage and the home win seems most likely.

HEAD TO HEAD

Since Stabaek entered the top of Norwegian football in 1995, they have won 10 matches against Viking, drawn 7 and lost 12.
