8.  Atletico Goianiense (20) v Cruzeiro (6)
Cruzeiro’s hopes, now on new coach

TEAM NEWS

Atletico Goianiense have lost five consecutive games after the 0-1 defeat at Gremio Prudente.

Their backline is unstable while they are unproductive up front. They have only scored 3 in the 6 games so far, the least in the league.

With one mere point so far, they are doomed to be rock bottom and should not belong to this league.

Cruzeiro have been winless for two straight rounds. After the last round’s draw with Santos, coach Adilson Batista decided to quit.

The club has announced the appointment of Emerson Avila as caretaker coach.  The new coach will travel with his men to the USA on a friendly tour during the World Cup break.

The foxes are pretty good at home, remaining unbeaten.

Striker Wellington Paulista now returns after his suspension. Left back Gilberto is playing for Brazil.
