Vagner Love’s farewell

TEAM NEWS

Flamengo striker Vagner Love’s contract is ending in July. Moscow CSKA have the right now to take back the Brazilian international. This could be his last game at Flamengo. Love expressed his wish to stay after the very encouraging Zico appointment as the club director.

The striker went against his former side last round and helped Fla beat Palmeiras 1-0, in their second win of the season.

Midfield Dejan Petkovi got injured midweek against Palmeiras. The 37 year old is consequently sidelined, along with Kleberson and Gonzalo Fierro, both on national duties.

Goias surprised by beating Sao Paulo 2-1 midweek in their second straight win.

The team has signed two new players this week, namely ex-Baruei striker Pedrao, and ex-Atletico Mineiro right back Carlos Alberto.

Pedrao is productive, but he can only join in August after his current contract in United Arab Emirates. He’s signed with Goias until May 2011.
