MATCH PREVIEW

Just like Gimnasia LP, Rosario Central are already focused on the relegation playoff. Velez Sarsfield still has a last shot at a South American Cup berth.

Rosario Central surprised everybody at Quilmes, where they drew with Estudiantes, the top team in the country. They could have even won, playing almost an hour against ten men. But they failed. However, there's confidence at Central. "We're already watching tape, preparing everything; we don't know who'll be our opponents yet, but all the second and first division teams have faith in themselves", said Leonardo Madelon. The manager will use a few starters and a few reserves so as to rest part of the squad. Especially, considering the first playoff match is scheduled for just four days after this one.

Velez Sarsfield need a win because they are tied with Lanus in points, although Velez Sarsfield have a one goal advantage. Right now, Velez Sarsfield would get the sixth and last Cup berth. But they can't relax. Playing in two competitions hurt their chances in the league. Besides, manager Ricardo Gareca had to deal with several injuries and suspensions. In Rosario, Uruguayan striker Hernan Rodrigo Lopez will be in the lineup after scoring four times against Chacarita Juniors. He is a key piece for this team.

Rosario Central don't want to lose more points. Velez Sarsfield are under pressure and, sometimes, that is a problem. A draw is the most likely outcome.

HEAD TO HEAD
