MATCH
PREVIEW
This
weekend, Chacarita Juniors say good-bye to the first
division after being relegated three rounds ago. Racing Club are
relieved they are going to play in the First Division next season.
Chacarita
Juniors have a goal: a dignified send-off game. They had a terrible season.
They had the most losses (13) and conceded lots of goals (31). No wonder they
got relegated. At the club, all conversations are about the players who will be
released and the squad they'll build for the Second Division. Their best
players, Facundo Parra,
Diego Morales and Lisandro Lopez, are all but gone.
The defeat
against River Plate incensed the Racing Club board, that
made an irrational decision: before the match, they told Grazzini
they wouldn't extend his contract. This bothered manager Miguel Angel Russo.
There are lots of rumors around the future of the manager. It's a known fact
Boca Juniors are interested in him. Russo won the Libertadores
Cup at Boca, and Racing chairman Rodolfo Molina wants
to know whether he'll stay at the club for next season. At least, he reached
their goal of avoiding the relegation playoff after Rosario Central failed to
beat Estudiantes.
Racing Club
should beat a poor Chacarita Juniors team in this
match to be held at Velez.

They've
played 101 games, with 52 wins for Racing Club, 23 for Chacarita
Juniors and 26 draws.

introduction of the short tournaments in 1990, Chacarita

They haven't met at Chacarita Juniors since 2003:
that was a scoreless draw.
