Opening Ceremony
HKSAR Chief Executive, Mr. Donald Tsang, will be at Sha Tin Parade Ring to conduct the official gong-striking opening ceremony and give his blessings for an exciting season ahead. Enhance your own good fortune by banging a mini-gongs at each major entrance.
HKSAR Chief Executive’s Cup
The day’s undisputed on-track highlight will be the season’s first championship event, the HKSAR Chief Executive’s Cup, the trophy for which will be presented by Chief Executive, Mr. Donald Tsang.Special Appearance by our Racing Ambassadors and Mascots
Our Racing Ambassadors and Mascots will also be on hand to wish everyone a successful season ahead.Auspicious Leap of Fortune Feng Shui Display**
To ensure you enjoy the luckiest possible start to the season, we’ve commissioned leading Feng Shui master, Mak Ling Ling, to create an auspicious Leap of Fortune display for Sha Tin Racecourse public forecourt. Featuring a giant lucky horseshoe with a golden horse in its middle, the display is flanked by six citrine horseshoes and six fortune wheels symbolizing vitality and the constant flow of prosperity! To ensure your season starts off with an auspicious blessing, be sure and strike the gong three times at the structure’s starting point, walk clockwise round the giant horseshoe and turn the fortune wheel lightly. Auspicious Time: 11am to 1pm; 1 to 3pmAuspicious Numbers: 3, 5, 9
Auspicious Bearings: South-east and north - so do your best to walk in a northerly and/or south-easterly direction when leaving home to head for the races

Don’t miss Icy Wong’s Special Appearance!
Young artiste Icy Wong will make a special appearance with Shetland ponies at a designated time slot at the formation for photo opportunity with fans. Our Racing Ambassadors will also be on hand to wish you good fortune by handing out lucky mascots!
