Our Team

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has a long-standing commitment to serving the community and improving the quality of life of Hong Kong people. It strongly encourages Club staff and retirees to serve the community through participating in volunteer work.

The CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team is a three-way partnership between the Club, Club volunteers and recipients of the services. It provides a platform for Club employees to contribute to the community and promote the spirit of teamwork among staff members. It also helps realise the Club's charitable mission in the workplace and strengthens the Club's spirit of being a socially responsible corporate citizen.

Our Vision

To be a reputable volunteer team actively serving those in need and providing a platform for the whole-person development of Club staff.

Our Mission

To realise the Club's charitable mission by encouraging staff to participate in voluntary work and help fulfil the Club's corporate social responsibility, whilst at the same time building teamwork and strong networks among Club staff.

Our Volunteers

All full-time, part-time and retired Club staff are welcome to join the volunteer team. Volunteers will receive appropriate training free of charge to enhance their service skills and build a strong team offering high quality services.

Currently, the CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team has some 900 members. Since its establishment in November 2005, they have already served the community for more than 30,000 hours, spreading love and care to the needy.

Our Community Services

The CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team puts great emphasis on district-based programmes and is committed to serving each and every district of Hong Kong.

To reflect the characteristics of different districts of the city, the volunteer team co-operates with local organisations to organise and design programmes that meet the special needs of local target groups. Examples are Chinese New Year lunch gatherings for the elderly, elderly singles home visits, carnivals and thematic workshops. The team's ultimate aim is to inspire the recipients of its services to become volunteers themselves, so that its services can be extended more widely to the community. This will ensure that everyone in Hong Kong has the opportunity to enjoy a self-sustaining, harmonious and proactive life.
